4th graders discoveries

In December 4th graders together with teacher Kamile inquired into new explorations and
discoveries, their reasons and results. During the unit of inquiry, such thinking strategies as
Mind Maps and Thinking Keys were employed. These visual tools (critical thinking
routines) were used in order to systematize written material, visualize learning process and
make connections among different aspects of the same topic. By doing ‘‘What if...“ activity
(analysing what could happen if there were no discoveries), students made different
assumptions connected with the importance and effects of discoveries and explorations.
Students collected all necessary material themselves. Also, they were encouraged to discuss
and take into consideration various perspectives. A few moments
