IB unit – „Where we are in place and time“. Discoveries vs Inventions.

At the beginning of the unit, together with the students, we analysed and compared the concepts - invention and discovery. After understanding the difference between these two concepts, students independently collected information about a chosen invention or discovery, its origin and importance in today's world. During English, our fourth graders were visited by Erasmus students from Spain who conducted various activities connected with the unit of inquiry. 4th graders shared the collected information about chosen inventions and discoveries in English and prepared a nice presentation for their peers and our visitors from Spain. Our students also had various discussions about life without a particular invention or discovery.
