IB unit – “Who we are”. Discovering Ourselves Through Art and Numbers
2025 September 25th Grade 2
As part of the first unit of inquiry, our second graders created a collage called “About Me.”
Students drew self-portraits and added cut-out images representing their favourite season, animal, fruit, and hobby. Through this creative process, they visually expressed information about themselves, their interests, and values.
The collected information was then summarized and presented in a bar chart. This activity not only encouraged students to apply their mathematical knowledge in practice and develop data organisation and interpretation skills, but also helped them realise that every person is unique – with individual interests shaped by personality, experience, and environment.
