IB unit “How we express ourselves”. We can express our creativity in different ways.
2024 February 3rd Grade 4

While analysing the transdisciplinary theme “How we express ourselves, during music activities, our 4th graders explored various approaches of composing and recording music. Students realised that musical notation encompasses a wide range of symbols beyond traditional musical notes. Fourth-grade students were given the chance to act as composers, utilising graphical elements to create their own musical composition. Students’ created scores included various symbols and icons that helped communicate the concept and atmosphere of their personal compositions. During the process of composing, fourth-grade students developed their creativity, imagination, understanding of musical forms, and explored different elements of musical expression. Each student not only cultivated the ability to appreciate music but also became adept at critically assessing it. Students’ compositions were related to winter season.

During visual arts, students had to capture their chosen special winter moment. Students enjoyed this activity and expressed their creativity in different ways.
