IB unit “Sharing the Planet”. Plastic.

The 1st graders, exploring the IB unit "Sharing the Planet," learnt fascinating things about natural resources. They identified, sorted, and grouped them. During the activities the studnts discovered how plastic, derived from oil, pollutes the environment, including oceans, and contributes to the decline of some aquatic species. The children actively collected, weighed, and counted plastic bottle caps, proposing ways to use them. What is more, they decided to create artworks depicting crabs suffering from the effects of plastic. To conclude the theme, the students presented their creations to the school community.
