IB unit: "Where We Are in Place and Time." Discoveries of family histories.

During this learning period, first graders explored how knowledge of history helps us understand people's lives. The children identified events and places that were important and meaningful to their families and compared their childhoods with those of their parents. By sharing their discoveries and creating a class family book, the students realized that every family has its own unique history and that every child has a special place in it. These activities helped the children better understand the passage of time, the importance of family ties, and their role in shared history.
