IB unit “Who are we”. Our senses.

Kindergarteners prepared creatively for “Fall festivities”, they made little gifts for their parents from white clay. This topic is closely associated with IB topic’s central idea – “we get to know the world using our senses”. Clay – is a therapy tool, which absorbs negative emotions, and the process of making things out of clay: play with it, form it, scrape it of and create again, helps to create a lot of happy memories. This type of creativity unleashes the imagination and develop spatial sense. During the activity the kids learned clays plastic abilities and rolled, cut, wrote in it, made relief creations and decorated with paint. While painting and working with clay the kids learn to recognize different shapes and their characteristics as well as geometric shapes. It is very important for child’s development especially for their thinking.
