IB unit "Who we are". Our well-being

Students clarified the meaning of the term "well-being". They searched for the information how many hours children of their age need to sleep, why it is important to get a good night's sleep. Conducted a study about the necessary sleeping hours and designed a night sleep diary and charted for a week. After filling it out, they realized that all the children in the class sleep enough.
Students also found out what kind of food is healthy and what kind of food is unhealthy. After intense research on the Internet, they learnt that specialists from the Harvard School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School offer a "Healthy Eating Plate", which has a lot of space for vegetables, less space for milk, and encourages the use of healthy oils. The students created two banners - "Healthy Eating Plate" and "Pyramid of Food Choices" using the collage technique.
Students participated in the "Day without a car" campaign. They understood that the active lifestyle is very important for a good health.
