TB: HOW THE WORLD WORKS, WEATHER
2020 November 19th Grade 2

2nd graders together with teacher Kamile analysed relationships between sun, air, land and water and their effect on weather and climate.

At first, students got familiar with tools used to measure the weather – an anemometer, a barometer, a windsock and a rain gauge. After discussing usages of the tools, students learned symbols used during weather forecasting – precipitation, wind speed, temperature and atmospheric pressure. Students also filled their weather observation sheets.

Moreover, students named and analysed weather conditions typical to a particular season. 2nd graders talked about common weather conditions in Lithuania.

By discussing what affects weather, students analysed clouds, their forms, types, altitude and impact on weather temperature. Students did a cotton ball activity and made clouds out of cotton balls.
